The Worldview of The Totalitarian Left
My Rant
Trying to understand the political left is like trying to discern the incoherent thoughts of the insane! The left is characterized by ignorance, immaturity and Godlessness. The left is made up by those who are entirely ignorant of our Constitution and founding principles. An adolescent attitude describes the bulk of the leftist lemmings who are hoodwinked by liberal demagogues in academia and the media. You have those who believe they're entitled to the fruits of others hard labor, those who feel the success of others must have cost them somehow. This attitude also appeals to the criminal underclass who'll take whatever they can get for any reason whatsoever. Then you have the highly educated elite in academia, politics and the media hypocritically railing against those who pay their cushy salaries by producing something in the real world.
Marxist worldview
To understand the left and today’s liberals you have the understand Marxism because much of their assumptions about the world flow largely from Marxist thought. Marxists have an unbending confidence in the power of the state to fix whatever ails humankind. They have little reason to object to state intrusion into virtually every aspect of society. Marxists cling to the religion of secular humanism where, “God is man and man is God”. They are moral relativist’s having few fixed beliefs; their only reality is what they believe at the time. They cling to a materialist world view that rejects traditional religion and sees mankind devoid of spiritual reality. Marxists see the human race and society to be perfectible through science applied to economics, social conditions, and politics. Marxist’s see little value in the wisdom of the past because to them our values and beliefs are constantly evolving.
The Courts
As moral relativists, liberals have few fixed convictions about right and wrong, only what people think or dare I say what the enlightened ones among us believe (i.e. Liberals). This is because to them our morals and values are constantly evolving. Little is to be learned from the past other than what to avoid because the past represents a time when we were less evolved. The theory of a Living Constitution fits perfectly if you accept a liberal worldview. How can there be inalienable (God given) rights if man is God and God is man? What value does the Bible or the Constitution have if truth is constantly changing?
The Government
Since God has no true significance in the world of a liberal, the government is the primary tool for societal change. People can’t be trusted to be self-governing; the government must take an almost godlike role to plan and direct all aspects of society including the economy, social issues and politics. The enlightened few in government along with our trained experts in bureaucratic agencies are to bring society forward into a more perfect world. The Constitution in its true form is only a hindrance to this “Brave New World”! How can there be limited government and individual rights if society is to evolve via an all-powerful state! What room is there for God if the only true reality is our material comfort in the here and now and we can save ourselves?
The Free Market
To a liberal, the free market conflicts with their virtue of equality. If someone succeeds, they must have taken something from someone else. They shun competition because there are winners and losers and that not fair! To a liberal, individual achievement is often seen as counterproductive because it may hinder the collective goals of society. Corporations are seen as the embodiment of evil and injustice. This is why liberals would rather everyone be poor because at least it would be fair. This also highlights the attitudes of many in the Occupy Wall Street crowd, which expect and even demand that the government pay for their college, mortgages, medical care and the list goes on. Of course the government must first confiscate the money by force of law from those who earned it to redistribute to those who demand it.(ie. the protesters or those they represent)
The Right to Life
To a liberal, people are little more than evolved animals. That may explain why the offspring of an American eagle has more protection under the law than an unborn child. In a Marxist materialistic world, a human being is nothing more than a cog in the engine of the society, so it’s no wonder individual rights are subordinated to group rights, it’s no wonder an unborn child is afforded so little protection. Many Liberals get upset when someone tells the truth about communist nations and dictators. When Reagan called the USSR an "evil empire", the liberal press went into a tizzy, while dissidents under soviet oppression rejoiced that a major political figure in the west finally had the guts to tell the truth. Even after the horrors of Soviet mass murders had come to light, many liberals in America still thought of the USSR to be a noble experiment in socialism that just needed the right people to be in charge.
Crime and Punishment
In a liberal world bereft of spiritual reality, a person is a product of his or her environment, individual choice has little relevance as to the decisions that people make. Under these premises it’s easy to understand why liberals have such difficulty distinguishing right from wrong and are so hesitant to punish criminals. This may explain the liberal’s defense of tyrants and murders or why they go to great lengths to defend terrorists but considered a teacher leaving a bible on their desk to be a great threat to our children.
The Family
In the liberal universe the family unit has outlived their usefulness because the state serves as a surrogate parent. Father no longer knows best, the government does! In the liberal universe, "It takes a village to raise a child"; translation- the government run public schools should be the primary tool for instilling values in our children along with providing breakfast and lunch and after school childcare. A government welfare check can replace the father as the family breadwinner, leaving parents free to do what they wish.
Religion
In the world of the left, religion is “an opiate of the masses” unless of course it’s a religion that confirms their view of the world such as secular humanism or a new age religion. The left see’s true Christianity with its absolute values to be the ultimate threat to their worldview and very existence. If Christianity is right everything they believe in crumbles; redistribution of wealth becomes theft, Gay and abortion rights become sin, so -called victims of society become lawbreakers, parents become responsible for their children, people become accountable for their own behavior, the government becomes a servant of the poeple and subject to the limits of the Constitution!
One of my favorite songs- An anthem for the left!
Conclusion
I believe the many on the left don't really understand the true nature of what their movement stands for. If they truly understood, my guess is that many of them would change their views.
